In the most realistic series of “The Teddy Bears Stories,” an image of teddy bear, a toy familiar to most people on Earth since childhood becomes almost an alter ego of the viewer, reflecting the feelings of the of the one who looks at it: these can be a feeling of vulnerability, longing for compassion, the expression of joy or aggression or a call to action. The psychologization of the image is achieved through changes in the character of brush strokes and unexpected colors. In this way, Olia brings the viewer back to their childhood, allowing them to establish a secret inner dialogue with themselves.
«Everyone has their own stories associated with their favorite toys. This series of stories from the life of teddy bears was conceived by me a long time ago, and began to be implemented during the COVID pandemic, when people were artificially isolated from each other. The bears turned out to be different, depending on what episode of their lives they ‘live’ or what they offer a person to experience with them.
Here is a Bear shining with happiness, painted in lilac-pink pastel colors, or a joyful Bear who has received a crown and is ready to share it as with his healthy optimism and perseverance, a happy Lady Bear and empathic Bear-intellectual with poet’s bow on his neck, and a Bear, joyful because he found an exit out of current predicament, an impressionistic Bear amidst the forest and a cute children's Bear cub... My sincere ‘bears’ are created to remind people of the best emotions of childhood, to help them find inner harmony and happiness.»
