NEW HORIZONS
November 7 — 29, 2026
Olia Breva will present a series of paintings, “Don’t make me laugh!”, at the international Arte Laguna Prize Collateral Exhibition 2026 in Venice.

From November 6 to November 29, 2026, contemporary artist Olia Breva will present her new painting project, “Don’t make me laugh!”, at the exhibition space Tesa 98, Arsenale Nord, Venice, Italy.

The new series explores the transformation of reality as it enters the inner space of human consciousness. Here, familiar proportions shift, forms distort, space loses its logic, and the recognizable becomes absurd. Complex phenomena are sometimes reduced to the simplest, almost childlike representations.

Through the grotesque, Olia Breva reveals the deformations of rationality, ethics, and morality within the momentum of the contemporary world. Human life appears as a strange choreography of fragmented actions, driven by desires and fears, filled with rituals that once seemed critically important but over time turn into multi-format signs stored in the cells of someone’s memory.

In this series, laughter becomes not merely an emotional reaction, but a way to perceive the contradictions of the surrounding world. The artist invites the viewer to look at reality from a distance, where the absurd exposes the fragility of ingrained beliefs, social rituals, and moral compasses.

Olia Breva’s participation in the Venice exhibition introduces her artistic practice to an international audience and opens up a space for dialogue on human consciousness, memory, and the paradoxes of modernity.
